In 1972, Sirio Maccioni worked as a maitre d’ at The Pierre hotel when the famous supper club La Forêt opened. Forty years later the legendary restaurateur has partnered with the Taj Group to launch his namesake restaurant, Sirio Ristorante New York.
The Maccioni family handpicked Michelin rated Italian chef Filippo Gozzoli to oversee the kitchen. The menu features contemporary and seasonal Italian cuisine inspired by the Tuscan standards of Sirio’s youth in Montecatini, Italy. An expansive selection of 250 of worldly wines complement the menu, along with Sirio’s private label red and white wines produced in the Maremma area of Tuscany.
Preeminent hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany created a space inspired by the high style aesthetic of 1960’s Italy, recalling the classic Italian ristorante and casual elegance of Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.” With an emphasis on convivial hospitality and approachable cuisine, The Maccioni family brings their version of dining out in Italy to New York City.
