In 1972, Sirio Maccioni worked as a maitre d’ at The Pierre hotel when the famous supper club La Forêt opened. Forty years later the legendary restaurateur has partnered with the Taj Group to launch his namesake restaurant, Sirio Ristorante New York.
The menu features contemporary and seasonal Italian cuisine inspired by the Tuscan standards of Sirio’s youth in Montecatini, Italy. An expansive selection of 250 of worldly wines complement the menu, along with Sirio’s private label red and white wines produced in the Maremma area of Tuscany.
Preeminent hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany created a space inspired by the high style aesthetic of 1960’s Italy, recalling the classic Italian ristorante and casual elegance of Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.” With an emphasis on convivial hospitality and approachable cuisine, The Maccioni family brings their version of dining out in Italy to New York City.
At Sirio Ristorante, traditional and contemporary Italian dishes inspired by the Tuscan standards of Maccioni’s youth are served in a beautiful and engaging environment. The menu offers a myriad of pastas and appetizers to simple and robust entrees. With its Fellini-esque décor, an emphasis on hospitality and one of the most impressive selections of Italian vintages in New York, Sirio Ristorante brings Italy to you.
